Wychavon District Council are currently reviewing the South Worcestershire Development Plan which will set out future development in Dodderhill parish and Wychbold to meet assessed local housing and employment needs. The plan is currently (as at July 2019) at the “Issues and Options” stage with the next public consultation on the preferred options due in November 2019.
The Parish Council will take part in this consultation as consultees and residents and the business community are encouraged to engage with the next round of consultation, particularly as this will set out the preferred options for housing and employment sites in the parish.
Please note that the Parish Council do not have any powers to include or exclude sites or set local plan policies. The decision on site allocations will be made by the Planning Authority (Wychavon DC) and examined by an independent examiner prior to being adopted.
Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment & Call for Sites
At this stage, no specific land is being suggested by the south Worcestershire Councils (Wychavon, Malvern Hills and Worcester City) for future housing and employment uses. However, the Councils will need to identify specific sites in the future. To the end, a ‘Call for Sites’ was carried out between May and July 2018, to ask landowners to put forward land they have that they wish to make available for future development. These sites will be assessed by the Councils for their suitability / availability / and whether they can be delivered in the plan period, as part of a Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA). This will provide the SWC with evidence which will inform the deliverability of potential spatial development options which will then be set out in the Preferred Options that will be consulted upon in November 2019.
